Boston Tea Party -- Circa 2006: Open Letter To IRS

TAXES / BOSTON TEA PARTY -- CIRCA 2006

Alains Newsletter

The CU Smiley Guy .. Sorry folks, I just REALLY thought this smiley was cool and had to share it. CU ADMINAccordingly, I hereby recommend that IRS and ICE team up in a joint effort to collect taxes, current and past, from the largest block of tax evaders known to human kind: 20 million illegal aliens now squatting tax-free in America.

At the risk of being presumptuous, let me offer another suggestion: The greatest opportunity to confront these tax evaders would be at large public gatherings. May 1 is rumored to be a "holiday" in the illegal alien community, to be celebrated by massive rallies and marches in cities all across America.

Open Letter To IRS: Boston Tea Party, Circa 2006

IRS
Washington, DC
CC: President Bush Democrats, RHINOs

Dear Ladies, Gentlemen and Undecideds:

NOT enclosed herewith are fully-executed documents concerning my 2005 income and taxes, including 1040, Schedule A, B, C, D and 50 other assorted pieces of meaningless paper normally generated only for the purpose of providing work for civil service types lacking sufficient intelligence and skills to secure gainful employment in the real world.

In calculating my tax obligations, I subtracted my "fair share" of government costs where my interests as an American citizen were not represented. As you may remember, "taxation without representation" is not cool.

Specifically, deductions were made for the following failings by the federal government:

- Borders not secured;

- Existing immigration laws not enforced;

- Homeland security measures not fully implemented;

- Taxpayer dollars used to provide public services to illegal aliens;

- Illegal aliens evaded income taxes;

- Ballots and other public documents printed in foreign languages;

- Salaries and benefits paid to president Bush and Congress while "working" on immigration reform.

Taking into account my fair share of services not received, the US government owes me about $15,000,000 for 2005. My accountants are researching tax returns going back to 2000, and we will file revised returns, and associated refund claims, as soon as possible.

Because I am politically conservative, I do not wish to add to the national debt just to rectify the wrong done me by the US government.

Accordingly, I hereby recommend that IRS and ICE team up in a joint effort to collect taxes, current and past, from the largest block of tax evaders known to human kind: 20 million illegal aliens now squatting tax-free in America.

At the risk of being presumptuous, let me offer another suggestion: The greatest opportunity to confront these tax evaders would be at large public gatherings. May 1 is rumored to be a "holiday" in the illegal alien community, to be celebrated by massive rallies and marches in cities all across America.

What a PERFECT opportunity for IRS and ICE to help retire the national debt and reverse illegal immigration all at once by confronting hundreds of thousands of illegals clogging the nation's streets on May 1!

How will you know them? They will be the ones with Mexican flags and "Sí se puede!" on their foreheads.

I have decided not to charge the government for the advise provided herein --- just forward the $15 million to me ASAP.

By the way, please note I am filing EARLY --- law and order runs through me veins, mates!

Wishing all illegal Aliens "A day WITH IRS!" I remain sincerely yours,

JOHN W LILLPOP

U.S. Dollar: Worthless, Fiat, "Funny Money"

ECONOMY - FINANCE / LACK OF A GOLD STANDARD FREES FEDERAL RESERVE TO CONTINUE MANUFACTURING WORTHLESS, FIAT, "FUNNY MONEY" AT THE WHIM OF POLITICIANS

Stopping the influence of big money in politics will remain impossible so long as the Federal Reserve has the power to create money to fund Federal deficits. People like George Soros always will discover ingenious ways to circumvent the latest legal strictures and spend literally billions of dollars to elect or to defeat candidates and to influence candidates' votes on legislation.

The only possible way to foreclose such manipulation, short of totalitarian dictatorship, is to reduce the incentives to big money. And the only way to do that is to reduce the scale and scope of Federal spending to such low levels that Mr. Soros et al will have little to gain by purchasing politicians.

Federal budgets will not be balanced and campaign finance reform will remain a sham so long as the Federal Reserve is free to manufacture money at the whim of politicians.

The surest way to accomplish that end is to put our currency back on a gold standard, so that there are fixed limits on the money supply at any given time. Under the gold standard that prevailed before the creation of the Federal Reserve, it was possible for excess bank credit temporarily to induce excess demand for production, but that condition could not persist for long. A short recession would clear the decks and put business back on a sound footing.

Most importantly, the Federal government couldn't take advantage of excess bank credit to business by open-ended funding of ever-larger welfare-state spending programs. If the Treasury sold bonds here or abroad, it had to be prepared to make interest and principal payments in gold, should the dollar's value decline because of inflation.

Congress was restrained by the absence of today's money-creation capacities of the Fed. The beginning assessment in every budget debate was determining the amount of tax revenues available to fund the government. Congress members were generally reluctant to confront angry voters after imposing additional taxes to fund new programs. Consequently the Federal government grew no faster than the total of the nation's economic activity. And, apart from wartimes, there were very few years of budget deficits.

Liberals will argue that President Clinton brought the budget into balance, even with the Fed free to pump artificial credit into the economy. This overlooks a couple of unique circumstances, the most important of which was the huge cuts made in defense spending. At the same time, business began to boom in response to Republican action in the House to reduce taxes, generating a huge, temporary surge in tax revenues. Even Democrats agreed privately that projections of future years' budget surpluses were pure fiction, based on assumptions of continuous and unprecedented growth rates in GDP, every year for decades into the future.

Looming in our future today is the cancerous growth of Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security retirement entitlements. In no way can we escape the fact that the government has promised us welfare-state payments that are growing at a rate many times faster than even the most optimistic projections of GDP growth. No matter which path we follow -- higher taxes or deficit funding via the Fed's inflationary expansion of the money supply -- we are heading toward the national decline now experienced by France and Germany, and here, on a micro level, by General Motors and Ford.

It's no surprise that the big money boys are actively fighting efforts to change the Social Security and Medicare-Medicaid program entitlements, because they want the ever-growing supply of spending sloshing around in the economy. Big business wants the government to pick up the tab for its own health care and retirement benefits. Unions want the security and comfort of Big Brother's arms securely wrapped around them, with his hands squeezing the non-union taxpayers' throats.

Knowing where the big money is to be had for their re-election campaigns, members of Congress are happy to accommodate these and other special-interest groups.

Meanwhile, the supposedly independent Federal Reserve board will keep pumping up the money supply to fund it all, hoping that it will be able to avoid the "fine-tuning" disaster of the Great Society's stagflation.

Don't bet on it. Put some of your savings into counter-inflationary commodity-based mutual funds and ETFs, with gold and oil part of the mix.

Democrats' Culture Of Corruption

POLITICS / DEMOCRATS' CULTURE OF CORRUPTION

(CNSNews.com) - Democrats, quick to invoke the alleged "Republican culture of corruption," have a few members of their own party to worry about.

A liberal-leaning group, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, on Wednesday urged the House ethics committee to investigate Rep. William Jefferson (D-La.) for his alleged role in a conspiracy and bribery scheme and for misusing federal resources in the wake of hurricane Katrina.

Last fall, CREW named Jefferson as one of the 13 most corrupt Members of Congress. (Eleven were Republicans; the two Democrats singled out by CREW included Jefferson and Rep. Maxine Waters of California. See story.)

Because outsiders cannot file ethics complaints in Congress, CREW said it is seeking a House Member to forward its complaint against Jefferson to the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct.

CREW said it based its complaint on information gleaned from the plea agreement of Brett Pfeffer, Jefferson's former legislative assistant.

In court documents, Pfeffer alleged that Jefferson used his position as a Member of Congress to promote a Nigerian business deal in return for favors bestowed on his relatives.

CREW also alleges that Rep. Jefferson improperly used federal resources in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, using National Guard troops to check on his home and retrieve some of his belongings.

"Rep. Jefferson's conduct shows a blatant disregard for the rule of law and the integrity of the House of Representatives," said Melanie Sloan, executive director of CREW, on Wednesday. "We urge a member of the House to ignore the long-standing ethics truce and file CREW's complaint with the House Ethics Committee today."

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington describes itself as a progressive legal watchdog group dedicated to holding public officials accountable for their actions.

(An aside: Jefferson was the beneficiary of a Democratic National Committee fund-raiser held last month at party headquarters in Washington. A spokesman for the Republican Party said at the time the event demonstrated the hypocrisy behind Democrats' cries of a "Republican culture of corruption" in the nation's capital. See story.)

Jefferson isn't the only Democrat operating under a cloud.

A former aide to Rep. John Conyers Jr. of Michigan, the ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, last month re-filed a complaint alleging that the congressman forced her and another congressional staffer to babysit his children and run other personal errands when they worked for him several years ago.

The complaint also said Conyers ordered some of his staffers to work on his wife's campaign for the Detroit City Council.

And Rep. Alan Mollohan, a West Virginia Democrat, faces accusations of funneling taxpayer money to nonprofit organizations he helped create -- and which support him with campaign contributions.

The Wall Street Journal and the New York Times last week published stories about Mollohan's questionable behavior; and in an editorial this week, the New York Times singled out Mollohan as something of a test case for corruption-fighting Democrats.

The New York Times noted that Mollohan, the ranking Democrat on the House ethics panel, "has emerged as the latest example of the sort of shady dealings that have sent Congress plummeting in the public's estimation."

If Democrats want to claim the mantle of corruption fighters, the newspaper said, "they had better force Representative Mollohan to quit the panel."
